Two Weeks In Thailand!
Earlier this month we spent two weeks in Thailand. Wow! What a switch from Hanoi. Here are just a few of the differences: McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, Sizzler, Starbucks, need I say more!

It was also significantly quieter than Hanoi! We didn't hear the never ending bombardment of motorbike horns. There were more pick ups than cars and fewer motorbikes. Instead of taxis and xe oms there were "tuk tuks" and "song taws". The first week we attended a "family conference" and the boys attended vbs. The second week the boys attended a camp for older children and teens while mom and day "di choi!" (Viet for "go play!). Actually, Robin and I spent the week with some friends except for two days when we wen to a resort get a way in the mountains.

"Hanoi Intl. School Field Day & Daniel's Birthday"

The boys had a great time and did very well at their school's annual field day at the national stadium in Hanoi. They had been working all year on their track and field skills and finally had the chance to show them off! We were rained out twice so we were just happy to get it in.

Daniel's birthday was fun for everyone. We picked up some of his friends at school and took them to a play "laser tag." Of course mom and dad had to get in on the action as well. The people at the "laser tag" place were so nice. They provided flowers ( a Vn custom), cake and refreshments. After we finished the young lady who was the manager hugged Robin (not normal for Vn's) and said, "I wish all of my customers were like you!" We were so excited and look forward to going back and sharing with her why we are the way we are! You know what I mean?
